Coping with Stress: It All Starts with Your Mind

Ever had one of those days where you just look around and say, "Nope." The to-do list is endless, the demands are coming from every direction, and there simply aren't enough hours in the day. You're tired, worn out and fed up.

We often get so caught up in the act of "doing," and there's a good reason for that—life can be incredibly challenging. But eventually, all that busyness can become completely overwhelming. It's like being a hamster on one of those endless treadmills, going round and round and round...

Here's the interesting part about that treadmill: the hamster is in control. That's right, Harry the Hamster can stop and get off whenever he wants. And so can we.

So, let's do something about it. Take a good look at your day. How much have you fed your mind today to let it be calm? That twenty minutes you spent scrolling on your mobile to relax is still giving your mind something to do. While it can be entertaining, our minds sometimes need a genuine break.

We all know that wonderful feeling of coming back from a holiday—refreshed, more able to cope, and with a greater sense of peace. While we can't be on holiday all the time, there are affordable and accessible ways to tap into that same deep relaxation and allow our bodies to restore themselves. This is where Reiki comes in.

Based on the principle that all living beings have life energy flowing through them, Reiki is a gentle, hands-on practice which helps to address imbalances in this energy, which can lead to physical, emotional, and mental discomfort. A practitioner acts as a conduit, channeling this universal energy to where it is most needed, promoting a profound sense of relaxation and inner peace.

This deep, restful state helps to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and support your body's natural healing abilities. It gives you a moment to step off the treadmill, allowing you to build resilience and a greater sense of balance in your life.

So, in conclusion, do as our lovely Harry the Hamster does: step off the treadmill.
