Why Your Mind Feels a Little 'ON' Lately (And How To Hit Pause).

Sometimes, the most helpful thing we can do isn’t to fix every little worry, but just to notice that our mind is off on a bit of a wander!
Think of your brain like a problem-solving machine. Its main job is to identify a task and then ‘tick it off’ by doing something about it.
But when it threatens to overtake us, we can often not realise we are doing this all day long! It’s usually not the ‘big’ life stuff, but a quiet background hum of tiny tasks playing on a loop.
You might be standing in the kitchen, and your head is miles away thinking about an email, wondering about the weekend, and then remembering those sausages you forgot to take out of the freezer.
Instead of feeling a bit overwhelmed, try to notice how your mind is like a busy engine, constantly looking for the next task to ‘solve.’
By simply noticing these ‘open loops’ as they happen, you are actually starting to step out of them. You’re no longer in the worry; you are the person observing it, and that is important.
• Take a breath: Realise you are right here, in the room.
• Acknowledge the loop: Simply note that your mind is trying to multitask.
• Pick one small thing: Do that one tiny task which is achievable or consciously decide to leave it for later.
When you notice your mind working just a little too hard, your nervous system can pause. You aren’t your worries; you’re the person noticing them.
By just noticing, you stop that busy cycle allowing your body to settle and relax.
If you needed this reminder today you are not alone. Save this post for the next time you feel caught in a ‘busy loop’ and need a gentle reminder to pause.
Much love ❤️✨
